Teams Meetings
To Know: As a reminder, Microsoft Teams will replace Zoom this summer as the web conferencing software for the University System. After the switch, you can still join and fully participate in Zoom meetings, hosting capabilities will be limited to functions available in free/basic Zoom licenses. During the 2024-2025 academic year, we have begun transitioning our USNH community members to use Teams Meetings as their primary web conferencing tool. Microsoft Teams is available on all USNH-managed devices.

Tableau to Power BI Transition
To Know: After a comprehensive review, listening sessions, and discussions with many users, we are excited to announce the transition from Tableau to Power BI as our primary data visualization tool for our USNH business operations. This change is driven by the need to streamline our data visualization tools and will leverage the advanced capabilities of Power BI, which offers enhanced integration with our existing Microsoft ecosystem. The transition will occur over the next three years when our extended Tableau licensing expires. This change will impact all departments and individuals who currently use Tableau for their data visualization needs.
Power BI is a powerful data visualization tool that offers a wide range of features to help users create insightful and interactive reports and dashboards. Some key features of Power BI include:
- Data Connectivity: Connect to various data sources like Excel, cloud-based, and on-premises data warehouses.
- Data Modeling and Transformation: Use Power Query and Power Pivot for easier data analysis and visualization.
- Custom Visualizations: Create customizable visualizations, including charts, graphs, and maps, with support for R and Python.
- Collaboration and Sharing: Share reports and dashboards, collaborate in real-time, and publish to the Power BI service.
- AI-Powered Insights: Discover patterns and trends with AI-powered insights and recommendations.
- Mobile Access: Access reports and dashboards on Windows, iOS, and Android devices.
- Automatic Data Refreshes: Ensure reports and dashboards are always up to date with automatic data refreshes.
