This week’s Tech Briefing contains new information, reminders, and training opportunities.

New Information

Security Alert: Fake Financial Aid Email Offers

To Know: Some USNH employees and students recently received fake financial aid offers via email. The email directs recipients to click on a link that appears as a UNH site and provides fields for a username and password. This site will harvest your credentials for use by a third party. If you receive this email, do not click the link; delete this email.

To Do:
ET&S Cyber Operations regularly uploads the latest known phishing emails to the USNH PhishBowl. ET&S provides this resource to USNH to help raise awareness of phishing campaigns within our environment. If you receive a suspicious email, please check the USNH PhishBowl to see if it is listed, or contact the Enterprise Technology Help Desk.

MUB G14 Computing Cluster is Going Away

To Know: ET&S is retiring the MUB G14 Computer Cluster.

To Do: Additional Computing Clusters are available in the McConnell Common and the Dimond Library.

Reminders: In Case You Missed It

New myUNH Portal will Replace the Old Portal on Tuesday, August 8

To Know: In spring 2023, UNH launched a new portal to provide the campus community with a tailored, one-stop online resource accessible to all UNH students, faculty, and staff using a web browser or mobile device. ET&S is migrating all content and functionality to the new portal.

On Tuesday, August 8, ET&S will redirect the previous version of the myUNH Portal to its new home.

To Do: Make the new portal your home by visiting https://my.usnh.edu and signing in with your UNH username and password.

New Login Method for USNH Applications
To Know: As a reminder, as of Tuesday, August 1, most USNH applications now require students, faculty, and staff to log in with their Fully Qualified Username, which comprises your username followed by @usnh.edu.

Please note: your campus email address remains the same.

This unique identifier plus Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA, which you already use) will authenticate your access to many services, regardless of campus affiliation.

To Do: If you experience trouble logging in with your Fully Qualified Username, please Clear the Cache on your web browser.
