This week’s Enterprise Technology & Services Tech Briefing contains updates, new information, and a reminder.

Box Migration Update
To Know: The Box-to-Microsoft 365 (M365) Migration will conclude over the next few months, and all Box accounts will be disabled. Here are the next steps for the project (in order):

  1. ET&S will disable Box apps and features over the next two weeks. This includes Box Sync, Box Drive, and Box Tools. No user action is required.
  2. ET&S will start de-provisioning student accounts this month and will finish by April 30. Once these accounts are de-provisioned, data in these accounts will no longer be accessible.
  3. ET&S will de-provision all faculty and staff accounts starting in May, but ET&S will notify you before this occurs. Report schedulers and link users should continue working with ET&S to migrate all data.
  4. ET&S will no longer provision Box accounts to new students or employees. This means you can no longer share Box folders and documents with new students and employees.
  5. Box is no longer the university-approved method of storing data. Please keep all sensitive data in OneDrive or SharePoint.
  6. Thanks to your cooperation, almost all UNH Box data is now migrated to Microsoft 365, and ET&S migrated over 20,000 users to M365.

To Do: Training: If you have not done so, consider attending Microsoft: M365 Office Hours. This is an open, drop-in time to ask questions and receive expert consultation for those seeking assistance using any M365 tools to meet their course/teaching, storage, file sharing, and collaboration needs. Visit the AT Training Calendar for more information.

Windows 11 Is Coming Soon
To Know: Windows 11 is now approved for use on all USNH faculty and staff computers. This new version of Windows brings many exciting features and improvements designed to enhance your computing experience.

By July 2023, ET&S will send and push an automated notification to all eligible computers prompting the installation.

To Do: If you would like to install this latest OS before the automated notification, you may do so:

  1. See if your computer is eligible: Click Start and type Software Center.
  2. If the upgrade is available for your device and you want to proceed, select and install it (this may take 30-45 minutes).
  3.  If you do not see this Upgrade available, your computer does not meet the hardware requirements for Windows 11 as set by Microsoft.
