Strategic Communications

This week’s Enterprise Technology & Services (ET&S) Tech Briefing contains new information, a few reminders, upcoming projects, and training opportunities.

Google Docs Phishing Alert

To Know: Over the last week, the Enterprise Technology & Services (ET&S) Cybersecurity team detected and removed over 600 fake shared Google documents phishing messages. These messages claim to be from the IT Help Desk and are addressed to specific departments.

Please note: the ET&S Help Desk will never share documents on behalf of other departments and will never send messages from a non-USNH/Gmail account.

If you need assistance with classroom technology or are experiencing issues using this technology, please call 603-535-2929. A student technician will troubleshoot the issue with you over the phone and if necessary, will be dispatched to your classroom.

We also assembled helpful documentation:

Moodle

To Know: On Thursday, August 11, one year after all courses were transitioned to Canvas, the Plymouth State University Moodle was put into a read-only mode for faculty and is no longer accessible to students.

Enterprise Technology & Services migrated all Course content from early Spring 2018 to Spring 2021 to Canvas. If faculty wish to migrate Moodle course content before Spring 2018, a ticket can be submitted using the Moodle at Plymouth Service Request form.

To Do: In the coming weeks, access to Moodle will require using the VPN while off campus. Further information will be forthcoming.

New Course Evaluation Software: Blue (New)
To Know: Campus Labs CoursEval has been replaced with the Blue course evaluation software. Blue has similar features as Campus Labs and integrates with Canvas for easy access for students to complete evaluations and instructors to view evaluation reports.

Students will receive an automated email when evaluations open for their course and reminders during and near the end of the evaluation period that contains a link to access their survey. Students can access surveys directly through any Canvas course using the “Course Evals” link in the course menu.

Faculty will receive automated notifications on the same schedule and can access course evaluations through a link in these emails connecting them to reports and responses. They can also review this information through the “Course Eval Reports” link in their Canvas courses.

For more information on Blue, go to https://td.usnh.edu/TDClient/64/unh/KB/?CategoryID=441.
