The Enterprise Technology & Services (ET&S) Tech Briefings contain important information and reminders for USNH faculty and staff. We will deliver these briefings every Thursday through October and whenever necessary. This week’s Enterprise Technology & Services (ET&S) tech briefing contains many new items and a few important reminders.

Coming This Fall: Multi-factor Authentication for Microsoft 365 (New)

To Know: Over the next six months, Enterprise Technology & Services (ET&S) will roll out Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Microsoft 365 (M365) to all University System of New Hampshire (USNH) students and employees. Purdue University began using  MFA for Microsoft 365 services in the fall of 2021 and saw its rate of compromised accounts plummet.

ET&S piloted this change with its employees in June to collect feedback on the process. Last week, we implemented MFA for M365 for all USNH Systems Office employees.

To Do: No user action is required at this time. Please stay tuned for more information.

New Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

To Know: The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, formerly known as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, is now the easy-to-remember resource for reaching trained crisis counselors who can help with suicide, mental health and substance use-related crises.

To Do: To contact the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, dial 988 from a campus or mobile phone.

New Course Evaluation Software: Blue (New)

To Know: Blue course evaluation software is now available to all USNH students and faculty. Blue integrates with Canvas for easy access for students to complete evaluations and instructors to view evaluation reports. Students and faculty can access these evaluations through a link in email notifications or the “Course Evaluation” link in any Canvas course.

To Do: For more information on Blue, go to https://td.usnh.edu/TDClient/64/unh/KB/?CategoryID=441.

MyAccount: Register Your Account Before Your Password Expires (Reminder)

To Know: The University System of New Hampshire (USNH) MyAccount self-service tool allows you to manage your password and your university account. With MyAccount, you can update your password and find your username and/or University ID number. If you forget your password, you can use the Reset Password feature to record your account.

To Do: All USNH students and employees should register their account recovery options via the MyAccount tool to avoid getting locked out. Follow these instructions to get started.
