In FY21, Enterprise Technology & Services (ET&S) expanded the University System of New Hampshire (USNH) network to simplify authentication and network access and increase wireless network signal speed and security.
The ET&S Network team accomplished this expansion with the following actions:
- Updated wireless access points (AP) in all University of New Hampshire (UNH) academic spaces from WiFi 5 to WiFi 6 at Plymouth State University (PSU)
- Upgraded more than 300 AP at PSU from WiFi 4 to WiFi 5 and added an additional 200 AP to increase coverage
- Upgraded all outdoor wireless AP to WiFi 6
At Keene State College (KSC), the Network team replaced more than 80 legacy optic network segments on the KSC campus with single-mode optic cables, which increased bandwidth capacity, removed distance limitations, and standardized equipment to match USNH network standards.
