The UNH Virtual Reality (VR) Lab is a new, free campus resource that serves the UNH research community, including students, faculty and staff. The facility is managed by Enterprise Technology & Services and is located in Morse Hall 220.

Virtual Reality uses technology to create realistic 3D simulations for users wearing specialized equipment.

The VR Lab features three Head-Mounted Displays (HMDs). One HMD is portable for easy VR demos anywhere on campus, and the other two HMDs are on media carts wired to computers that maximize computing efficiency and graphical fidelity. Each VR station is set up with several demos to help researchers think about how their data can be visualized and experienced using this technology.

The VR Lab is resourced using funds raised during the 2019 (603) Challenge, and a portion of the hardware was donated by Connection, through a partnership with Lenovo. VR technology flourished in a relatively short time frame, and ET&S is working to ensure the university community stays at the forefront of new and innovative research methods and educational experiences.
