Inclusive teaching supports equitable access to learning for all students and serves student needs regardless of background or identity.

In 2018, Enterprise Technology & Services started work on a self-paced inclusive teaching course focused on course content, teaching practices and interactions. The course was piloted in June 2019 and finalized in December 2019, with the goals of increasing awareness of inclusive and culturally responsive practices and their positive impacts on student retention.

UNH prioritizes inclusivity, and the course is designed to help faculty become aware of their teaching methods and whether they are being inclusive in their classrooms. It also helps shape future behavior to ensure faculty are providing equitable learning opportunities for all students.

The course is open to all faculty and offers opportunities to reflect on teaching practices while also learning practical tips to promote inclusive teaching. Many campus and community groups provided feedback for the course, including faculty across all colleges and the Office of Community, Equity, and Diversity.
