New Microsoft 365 Online User Interface (New)

To Know: Recently, Microsoft released a new interface for all USNH users in their online version of M365 (portal.office.com). This new “work hub” helps you start your day, gets you back to work, makes sure you don’t miss important messages and information. If you do not yet see changes, you will soon.

  • Use Recommended actions to quickly respond to activities that might need your attention, like replying to @mentions in a document or joining a meeting that has started.
  • Quick access helps you easily find documents that are relevant to you.
  • My Content is the place to see all your content across multiple file types and storage locations.
  • Create new documents, Lists, notebooks, workbooks, and more. Everything is automatically saved in your OneDrive making it simple to share and collaborate with others.
  • Launch an app, like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Microsoft Teams.
  • Use Search to look for AppsFilesPeople, and Sites.

  • Change in Outlook calendar behavior: users will now have to select if they want a Teams meeting included in their invitation.
  • Change in sidebar menu: SharePoint and OneDrive are no longer accessible through the sidebar menu. To access these applications, along with many others, click on the menu next to Office on the left-hand side of the interface.

MyAccount: Finding Your USNH ID Number (Reminder)

To Know: Students, faculty, and staff can manage their accounts and passwords through the USNH MyAccount tool. You can also use this tool to view your nine-digital USNH ID number.

To Do: To find your USNH ID Number, go to https://myaccount.usnh.edu, sign in with your UNH username and password, and click on Account Information. You will find your USNH ID under the second tab: My USNH ID & Email. FITSI 2022 (Reminder)

To Know: ET&S will host the 21st annual Faculty Instructional Technology Summer Institute (FITSI) on Tuesday, June 7, through Thursday, June 9and is open to UNH faculty. Accepted participants will receive a Technology Enhancement Award of $500 to facilitate the purchase of technology or professional development to aid in your teaching or course revisions. Applications are open to faculty, instructors, and graduate students. We cannot accept adjunct instructors at this time. Our keynotes will be open to the public. The deadline for applications is April 8, 2022.

USNH partnered with Microsoft to provide training. These sessions are open to all USNH employees.

This is a 100-level course that will show users how to utilize the basic functionality of OneDrive and Sharepoint.

Appointment Campaigns enable advisors to request those specific students select a specific date and time in which to schedule an appointment. This contrasts with the advisor creating appointments for each student. This feature is commonly used when an advisor must meet with all their students at least once per term.

FOI Innovation Lab
Innovation lab: Increasing student motivation with online tools 
Facilitator: Fran Keefe, Learning Architect 
This will be a Zoom-only workshop, with hands-on activities. Learners will be asked to participate in hands-on portions of the workshop by working in their own canvas sandbox course. We will investigate instructional methods and explore some of the factors that influence student motivation. We will look at tools available online and in canvas that you can use to help increase student motivation.
