Tidy Up Your SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams Data
To Know: Now is the perfect time to ensure your data is both safe and manageable. Help keep the USNH SharePoint environment secure and streamlined by taking a few minutes to review your files and folders.

Important things to know about data retention:

  • Any content that should remain beyond your association with the University should be stored in SharePoint.
  • OneDrive is intended for work-related personal documents. When you depart the University everything in your OneDrive will be deleted. For details see Moving Institutional files to SharePoint.

To Do:

  • Identify and delete any unnecessary, outdated, or duplicate files. This helps reduce storage needs and keeps things organized.
  • Check your OneDrive and SharePoint storage to see how much space you’re using.
  • Organize your files by using sorting options to change how files appear in your SharePoint view.
  • Review permissions to make sure only the right people have access to your files.
  • Manage sharing settings in SharePoint to control who can access your files.
  • Check link sharing to remove unnecessary links or set expiration dates.
