Public Access to Data

Funding agencies and publishers increasingly expect that data resulting from research projects will be made publicly accessible and discoverable for re-use, whenever legally and ethically possible. Also, many funders (such as NIH and NSF) have public or open access policies for publications resulting from funded research.

Whether or not your data is made publicly accessible, you are responsible for ensuring that your data is kept safe and retrievable for a specified retention period after the end of the project. See Storage Offerings for options for research data storage.
