Digital Object Identifiers (DOI)

The UNH Library is a member of Crossref. Through this membership, the Library can register Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for published content. A DOI is a persistent link to the location of content on the Internet. As a member of the University of New Hampshire, you can request a DOI for your content.

Requesting a DOI

You can request a DOI for a variety of content types including reports, datasets, and other items published via the UNH Scholars’ Repository.

To request a DOI, contact Nikki Hentz, Institutional Repository Manager. You need to complete a form with basic information about your content and submit a copy of your content or a stable link to your content along with associated documentation. You will need to read and agree to your responsibilities as a content steward set forth in a standard submission agreement.

If you or your group request a large number of DOIs in a fiscal year for a special project, please contact us so we can negotiate a cost-share with you.

Your DOI will resolve to a landing page in the UNH Scholars’ Repository, which will either provide direct access to the content or a stable link to where users can access the content.
